Quarter-Finals Round 3: Svendborg - Vaerlose 98-88

Svendborg held off Vaerlose to secure the semifinal birth. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 98-88. Svendborg dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Vaerlose's 40 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Vaerlose 41-28 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for U.S. Virgin Islands power forward Gregory Washington (208-84, college: Hofstra) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86) contributed with 21 points and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Justin Baker (203-89, college: Utah Valley) answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the other American import guard Richard Delk (193-86, college: Troy) added 26 points in the effort for Vaerlose. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
