No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Vivo/Franca (18-10) beat 8th ranked Paulistano (15-12) in Sao Paulo 77-63. It looked good early as Paulistano took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vivo/Franca had a 21-19 second period charge getting the lead and Paulistano was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 63-77. They outrebounded Paulistano 32-20 including 22 on the defensive glass. Vivo/Franca players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 12 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Guilherme Teichmann (204-83, college: Tulsa) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Center Lucas Mariano (207-93) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Andre Luiz Brugger (192-81) produced 15 points and power forward Renato Carbonari (204-87) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. Vivo/Franca moved-up to fifth place. Paulistano at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Vivo/Franca's next round opponent will be Pinheiros (#6) in Sao Paolo. Paulistano will play on the road against Uberlandia.
