There was a small surprise in Aix-les-Bains where tenth ranked Aix-Maurienne (14-13) beat 8th ranked Fos Ouest (15-12) 80-69 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning next two quarters and won the game by 11 points. Aix-Maurienne outrebounded Fos Ouest 41-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Fos Ouest was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American Wilbert Brown (200-84, college: Niagara, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Erroyl Bing (198-82, college: E.Carolina) chipped in 9 points and 16 rebounds.
