Rather expected game in Thessaloniki where 9th ranked Terpsithea (6-15) was defeated by sixth ranked Aris (12-9) 63-56 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Aris forced 22 Terpsithea turnovers. Point guard Maria Bousnaki (172-89) stepped up and scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and Bosnian center Aleksandra Begenisic (193-89) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Aris players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Michelle Harrison (190-87, college: Utah) with 14 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Maria Panagiotopoulou (187-83) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Aris moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ikaros Kalitheas. Terpsithea lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Aris will face higher ranked AO Ellinikou (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Terpsithea will play against Asteras (#8) in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
