Very important is a road loss of second ranked Shimane Magic (28-13) against eleventh ranked Gunma (10-31) on Saturday night. Visiting Shimane Magic was defeated by Gunma in a tough game in Gunma 72-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. Shimane Magic trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 20-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 72-78 at the end of the game. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a great evening for forward Dominique Keller (203-88, college: Illinois) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. Keller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 16 rebounds and center Jeral Davis (216-84) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Newly promoted Gunma maintains eleventh place with 10-31 record. Loser Shimane Magic keeps the second position with 13 games lost. Gunma will again meet at home league's second-placed Shimane Magic in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shimane Magic will have a break next round.
