Very predictable result when fifth ranked Leche Rio Breogan (12-10) won against 13th ranked Leyma Basquet (8-14) in Lugo 61-46. The game was mostly controlled by Leche Rio Breogan. Leyma Basquet was better in second period 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Leyma Basquet 36-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Leche Rio Breogan brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. Dutch power forward Roeland Schaftenaar (211-88, college: Oregon St.) fired 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) chipped in 6 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Center Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca (212-83) produced 10 points and 6 rebounds and Ivorian-American forward Jonathan Kale (203-85, college: Providence) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Leche Rio Breogan maintains fifth position with 12-10 record. Newly promoted Leyma Basquet dropped to the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Leche Rio Breogan's next round opponent will be Planasa NV (#12) in Pamplona and are hoping to win another game. Leyma Basquet will play at home against Meridiano Alicante.
