There was no surprise in Valladolid where 18th ranked Assignia Manresa (4-21) was defeated by fifteenth ranked Blancos de Rueda (10-15) 86-73. Assignia Manresa was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Blancos de Rueda dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Assignia Manresa's 22 and made 29-of-36 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Assignia Manresa only scored nine points from the stripe. 29 personal fouls committed by Assignia Manresa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for forward Nacho Martin (205-83) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Ian O'Leary (201-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Blancos de Rueda players scored in double figures. American guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) answered with 28 points (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and Hungarian Adam Hanga (200-89, agency: TSS Management) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Assignia Manresa. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Blancos de Rueda moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with UCAM Murcia and CB Canarias. Assignia Manresa lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Blancos de Rueda's next round opponent will be Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#17) in Madrid which should be theoretically an easy game. Assignia Manresa will play at home against Gescrap BB having rather not much hope for a victory.
