Regular Season Round 29: AZS Radex - Slask Wroclaw 86-81

Top ranked Slask Wroclaw (26-3) recorded its third loss in Szczecin on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by tenth ranked AZS Radex (15-14) 86-81. Slask Wroclaw was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. AZS Radex made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Krzysztof Mielczarek (198-81) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). point guard Lukasz Pacocha (182-82, agency: Promotex) chipped in 20 points and 8 assists. AZS Radex's coach Zbigniew Majcherek used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international forward Radoslaw Hyzy (203-77) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Marcin Flieger (182-84, agency: Promotex) added 18 points and 7 assists respectively for the guests. AZS Radex moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Slask Wroclaw at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. AZS Radex is looking forward to face Stal Ostrow (#11) in Ostrow Wlkp. in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Slask Wroclaw will play at home against MOSiR Krosno (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
