There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Sluc Nancy (8-15) defeated at home higher ranked Entente Orleans 45 (11-12) 82-75 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 24-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Sluc Nancy dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Entente Orleans 45's 34 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for forward Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) helped adding 21 points. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. Sluc Nancy's coach Jean-Luc Monschau used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Brian Greene (204-81, college: Colorado St.) responded with 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Christopher Hill (191-83, college: Michigan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) scored 12 points. Sluc Nancy maintains fourteenth place with 8-15 record. Loser Entente Orleans 45 dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Sluc Nancy will face higher ranked Cholet (#12) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
