Regular Season Round 21: Talje - Eskilstuna 86-64

Date: March 16, 2013
There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Eskilstuna (9-12) was rolled over on the road by ninth ranked Talje Knights (10-10) 86-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. Talje Knights led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Point guard Mario Blazevic (180-93) stepped up and scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Sheriff Drammeh (186-96) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots). Four Talje Knights players scored in double figures. Talje Knights' coach Ludvig Degernas felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Spanish forward Lluis Jacas (198-90) with 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Robert Norstrom (191-83) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. Talje Knights moved-up to seventh place in South. Loser Eskilstuna dropped to the ninth position with 12 games lost. Talje Knights will meet Sanda Basket (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Eskilstuna will play against the league's second-placed Brahe Basket where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
