Regular Season Round 43: Chiba Jets - Okinawa GK 82-84

Sixth-ranked Chiba Jets (20-19) made lots of trouble for first ranked Okinawa GK (30-9). The visitors from Okinawa managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Okinawa GK forced 19 Chiba Jets turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Okinawa GK's coach Tohyama Kohto allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Cros.) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds and forward Marquin Chandler (202-82, college: San Jose St.) added 19 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Chiba Jets. Okinawa GK maintains first place with 30-9 record. Chiba Jets at the other side keep the sixth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Kyoto Hannar.. Okinawa GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Chiba Jets will play again at home against the league's leader Okinawa GK (#1) and hope to get back on the winning track.
