Regular Season Round 22: AZS AWF K-ce - Tychy 67-65

Sixth-ranked Tychy (11-9) gave a tough game to first ranked AZS AWF K-ce (17-3) in Katowice. AZS AWF K-ce managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected much easier game. Tychy was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 17-9 third quarter run of AZS AWF K-ce. Tychy was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Mariusz Piotrkowski (197-84) notched 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and point guard Marcin Ecka (184-78) supported him with 16 points. Four AZS AWF K-ce players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by forward Pawel Olczak (195-81) did not help to save the game for Tychy. Power forward Lukasz Bodych (202-90, agency: Promotex) added 10 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. AZS AWF K-ce have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-3 record. Newly promoted Tychy keeps the sixth place with nine games lost.
