No shocking result in a game when third ranked Meridiano Alicante (15-7) beat at home 11th ranked Ourense (8-14) 93-83. They outrebounded Ourense 33-19 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. Forward Taylor Coppenrath (205-81, college: Vermont) fired 27 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Shaun Green (203-87, college: Utah) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. point guard Ashton Gibbs (188-90, college: Pittsburgh) produced 17 points and guard Nick Barbour (190-89, college: High Point) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ourense's coach Rafael Sanz rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Meridiano Alicante have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 15-7 record having five points less than leader Andorra. Newly promoted Ourense keeps the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Meridiano Alicante's next round opponent will be Leyma Basquet (#13) in Coruna and are hoping to win another game.
