There was a minor upset when 4th placed Umea (13-9) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Alvik Basket (10-10) 75-67 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 48-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Marten Melinder (194-92) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Anton Juhlin (-91) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Per Bergmark (195-89) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Fredrik Karlsson (198-81) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 20 rebounds. Newly promoted Alvik Basket maintains sixth place in North with 10-10 record. Umea at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with nine games lost. Alvik Basket will meet at home Orongo Dragons (#9) in the next round. Umea will have a break next round.
