There was no surprise in Pozoan where 14th ranked AZS PP (8-21) was defeated by ninth ranked WIKANA Start (15-14) 86-71. The game was mostly controlled by WIKANA Start. AZS PP was better in second period 28-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. WIKANA Start players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Point guard Lukasz Wilczek (189-86) nailed 8 points, 10 rebounds and 13 assists for the winning side and swingman Tomasz Celej (198-78, agency: Promotex) accounted for 26 points. Center Adam Metelski (208-83, college: Cal-Irvine) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Pawel Hybiak (173-89) added 9 points and 7 assists respectively for AZS PP in the defeat. AZS PP's coach Waldemar Mendel tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. WIKANA Start moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted AZS PP dropped to the fifteenth position with 21 games lost. WIKANA Start's next round opponent will be higher ranked P.Cukier SIDEn (#4) in Torun and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS PP will play on the road against SKK Siedlce (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
