An interesting game took place in Rishon Le-Zion where 4th placed Maccabi Rishon (11-10) was upset on its own court by eleventh ranked Hapoel Holon (8-13) 82-76 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Maccabi Rishon. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-76. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward Frank Hassell (203-88, college: ODU) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds. point guard Dominic Waters (185-86, college: Portland St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 assists. Five Hapoel Holon players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 28 points and 4 assists and point guard Lazeric Jones (182-90, college: UCLA) added 9 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Hapoel Holon moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Bnei Hasharon. Loser Maccabi Rishon keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Hapoel J-M and Netanya. Hapoel Holon will meet at home higher ranked GreenTops Netanya (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Rishon will play against the league's second-placed Maccabi Haifa where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
