Regular Season Round 21: Umbertide - Parma 69-66

The most exciting game of round 21 in the A1 took place in Umbertide. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Parma (12-5) to fifth ranked Umbertide (9-8) 69-66 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Parma. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-10. But Parma won second period 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Umbertide forced 21 Parma turnovers. American D'Andra Moss (178-88, college: VCU, agency: Regeneracom Sports) stepped up and scored 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import power forward Courtney Willis (188-82, college: E.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was New Zealand-American forward Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Croatian center Sonja Kireta (198-76) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Parma players scored in double figures. Umbertide maintains fifth place with 9-8 record. Parma at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. They share it with Taranto. Umbertide are looking forward to face Cagliari CUS (#9) on the road in the next round. Parma will play against Priolo (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
