Regular Season Round 23: Chalon - Le Mans 66-60

The game between Top Four teams took place in Chalon. Third ranked host Chalon/Saor (15-8) defeated 4th placed Le Mans (13-10) 66-60. The hosts were ahead by 9 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 16-9 run, which allowed them to win the game. Chalon/Saor forced 25 Le Mans turnovers. Strangely Le Mans outrebounded Chalon/Saor 34-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Blake Schilb (200-83, college: Loyola, IL, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import guard Marcus Denmon (190-90, college: Missouri) accounted for 11 points for the winning side. FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and Brazilian power forward Joao Paulo Batista (207-81, college: Gonzaga) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Le Mans in the defeat. Defending champion maintains third place with 15-8 record behind leader Gravelines. Le Mans at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with ASVEL. Chalon/Saor will play against bottom-ranked Poitiers (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Le Mans will play against Limoges CSP Elite (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
