Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Hapoel Afula (14-8) won against on the road 10th ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (7-15) 66-60 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hapoel Kfar Saba won third quarter 15-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Hapoel Afula won last quarter 21-16. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Kfar Saba's 28. American forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Oz Blayzer (199-92) supported him with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Durham is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds by forward Eitan Rotemberg (197-91) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Kfar Saba. American forward Maurice McNeil (205-87, college: Houston) added 9 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Hapoel Afula moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Ironi Ramat Gan and Elitzur Yavne. Loser Hapoel Kfar Saba dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Hapoel Afula will meet bottom-ranked Maccabi Kiryat Bialik (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Kfar Saba will play against the league's leader Ironi Nes-Ziona in Nes Ziyona and hope to secure a win.
