Regular Season Round 22: Ironi Ramat Gan - Kiryat Tivon 94-81
Date: March 19, 2013
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Kiryat Tivon (5-17) lost on the road to fifth ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (14-8) 94-81 on Tuesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. The former international power forward Amit Tamir (208-79, college: California) notched 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Tyrone Kent (196-86, college: Toledo) supported him with 25 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Kent is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds by Belizean-American forward Alex Carcamo (200-77, college: E.Washington, agency: Dream Team Management) did not help to save the game for Kiryat Tivon. Naturalized Canadian guard Simon Farine (188-87) added 21 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Kiryat Tivon's coach Erez Bittman rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ironi Ramat Gan have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Elitzur Yavne and Hapoel Afula. Loser Kiryat Tivon keeps the twelfth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Maccabi K/G. Ironi Ramat Gan will meet Elitzur Yavne (#6) on the road in the next round. Kiryat Tivon will play against Beer Yaakov (#9) and hope to secure a win.
