Everything could happen in Gdynia at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked PGE Turow and 3rd placed Asseco Prok. had identical 16-8 record. But Asseco Prok. was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Zgorzelec 82-68 on Thursday night. It was a key game for the top position in Places 1-6. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-68. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Damian Kulig (206-87) who scored 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Serbian guard Djordje Micic (195-83) chipped in 14 points. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90) who recorded 18 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and the former international Przemyslaw Zamojski (194-86, college: Independence CC, agency: Alti Sport) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. PGE Turow (17-8) keeps a position of Places 1-6 leader, which they share with Trefl Sopot. Defending champion Asseco Prok. keeps the third place with nine games lost. PGE Turow will face Energa Czarni (#6) in Slupsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Asseco Prok. will play on the road against Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
