Rather predictable result when eighth ranked Castello (9-11) edged on the road bottom-ranked La Palma (5-15) 77-76 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 23-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely La Palma outrebounded Castello 38-25 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Roberto Rueda (182-86) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and forward Alberto Fernandez (195-89) chipped in 14 points during the contest. At the losing side naturalized Cape Verdean center Walter Tavares (220-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Fabio Santana (188-92, agency: Beo Basket) scored 20 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Castello have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Castello maintains eighth position with 9-11 record. Loser La Palma stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost.
