Rather expected game when 7th ranked Jopisa Burgos (7-12) lost to fourth ranked Cadi ICG S. (11-8) in Seu D'urgell 67-72 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-10. But Jopisa Burgos won third quarter 23-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cadi ICG S. made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. American forward Arhonda Covington (185-85, college: Louisville) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Senegalese power forward Astou Traore (182-81, agency: Josep and Nicolas) accounted for 19 points. Cadi ICG S.'s coach Andreu Bou used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Berta Chumillas (173-90) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and American Rachel Allison (185-87, college: Baylor) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Jopisa Burgos in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Cadi ICG S.. They maintain fourth place with 11-8 record. Jopisa Burgos lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Cadi ICG S. will meet bottom-ranked Conquero (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jopisa Burgos will play against Navarra Pamplona (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
