Very expected game in Dubrovnik where 11th ranked Ragusa (5-14) was crushed by second ranked Lupa Promotion (18-1) 96-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Lupa Promotion. Ragusa was better in second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lupa Promotion dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Ragusa's 30. Lupa Promotion forced 20 Ragusa turnovers and outrebounded them 42-13 including a 32-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lupa Promotion looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Ragusa's players. It was a great evening for the former international forward Mirna Mazic (188-85, college: Richmond, agency: 1x1 Sports) who led her team to a victory scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds. American center Latoya Williams (190-87, college: Chipola JC) helped adding 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side the former international power forward Ivona Matic (188-86) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Emilija Babun (170-86) scored 15 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Lupa Promotion. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gospic. Ragusa lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Lupa Promotion will face bottom-ranked ZKK Agram (#12) in Zagreb in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Ragusa will play on the road against ZKK Medvescak in Zagreb.
