Regular Season Round 26: Marghera - Umana Reyer 57-62

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Venezia: Umana Reyer (#1) and Marghera (#5). Marghera was defeated at home 57-62 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-19. But Marghera won second period 11-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Umana Reyer won last quarter 15-12. The best player for the winners was Romanian forward Simina Mandache (185-81) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. International guard Alessandra Formica (186-93) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Umana Reyer players scored in double figures. Bulgarian swingman Daniela Georgieva (184-86) produced 15 points and point guard Sara Innocenti (170-92) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. Umana Reyer (25-1) have an impressive 21-game winning streak. Newly promoted Umana Reyer maintains first position in North. Marghera at the other side keeps the fifth place with 11 games lost.
