Regular Season Round 27: Rueil - Monaco 82-72

An interesting game took place in Rueil, where 6th ranked Monaco (13-10) lost to ninth ranked Rueil (13-12) in a road game 72-82 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rueil. Monaco was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Monaco outrebounded Rueil 47-35 including 22 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Monaco was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St., agency: TSS Management) who scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Alexis Desespringalle (192-91) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Four Rueil players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian forward Milutin Aleksic (203-82) who recorded 7 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Serbian-Bosnian center Nemanja Calasan (205-85, college: Purdue) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Rueil maintains ninth place with 13-12 record. Newly promoted Monaco dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Rueil will face higher ranked Blois (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
