A very interesting game took place in Reggio Calabria. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Firenze (12-14) to eighth ranked Reggio Calabr. (14-12) 74-72 on Sunday evening. Firenze was ahead by 11 points after three quarters before a 24-11 charge of Reggio Calabr., which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for point guard Alessandro Piazza (174-87) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Power forward Marco Ammannato (202-88, agency: Players Group) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Reggio Calabr.'s coach Francesco Ponticiello used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Mattia Caroldi (185-82) added 18 points in the effort for Firenze. Four Firenze players scored in double figures. Reggio Calabr. moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Casalpusterlengo. Firenze at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Reggio Calabr.'s next round opponent will be Bari (#10) on the road. Firenze will play against the league's second-placed Matera where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
