Very important is a home loss of second ranked Shimane Magic (30-14) against fourth ranked Toyama Grouses (27-15) on Sunday night. Host Shimane Magic was defeated by Toyama Grouses in a tough game in Shimane 72-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shimane Magic. They outrebounded Shimane Magic 42-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Puerto Rican power forward Angel Garcia (209-88, college: Memphis) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga, agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Kouki Yamabuchi (183-84) scored 9 points and 5 assists. Shimane Magic's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyama Grouses moved-up to third place. Loser Shimane Magic keeps the second position with 14 games lost. Toyama Grouses will face Shiga L-Stars (#4) at home in the next round. Shimane Magic will play against the league's leader Okinawa GK and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
