Regular Season Round 24: Enel Brindisi - Sidigas AV 72-76
Date: March 24, 2013
We should mention about the upset which took place in Brindisi, where 9th ranked Enel Brindisi (10-14) lost at home to twelfth ranked Air Avellino (9-14) 72-76. It looked good early as Enel Brindisi took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Air Avellino had a 21-8 second period charge getting the lead and Enel Brindisi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-76. The game was dominated by American players. The winners were led by guard Taquan Dean (193-83, college: Louisville) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) and swingman Jeremy Richardson (200-84, college: Delta St.) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Even 28 points by point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) did not help to save the game for Enel Brindisi. Forward Antywane Robinson (203-84, college: Temple, agency: Priority Sports) added 12 points and 14 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Enel Brindisi's coach Pier Luigi Bucchi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Air Avellino have an impressive five-game winning streak.
