An interesting game took place in Caserta, where higher ranked Juvecaserta (10-14) lost at home to fifteenth ranked VL Pesaro (7-17) 66-77 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Juvecaserta. The game was mostly controlled by VL Pesaro. Juvecaserta was better in fourth quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86) who scored 19 points. American point guard Torey Thomas (180-85, college: Holy Cross) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: Beo Basket) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Stefano Gentile (191-89) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. VL Pesaro maintains fifteenth position with 7-17 record. Loser Juvecaserta dropped to the ninth place with 14 games lost. VL Pesaro will face higher ranked Oknoplast BO (#14) in Bologna in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
