Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked C.de Latte BRE (13-8) beat on the road 12th ranked FCM Ferentino (8-13) 90-85 on Sunday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But FCM Ferentino won third quarter 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. C.de Latte BRE shot 63.0 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for C.de Latte BRE especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. The best player for the winners was American guard Michael Jenkins (191-86, college: Winthrop) who scored 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Argentinian guard Juan Fernandez (193-90, college: Temple) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. American-British forward Laurence Ekperigin (201-88, college: Le Moyne) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American-Guyanese forward Delroy James (203-87, college: Rhode Island) added 18 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. FCM Ferentino's coach Franco Gramenzi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. C.de Latte BRE maintains fourth place with 13-8 record. Newly promoted FCM Ferentino dropped to the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. C.de Latte BRE will meet at home Upea CdO (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. FCM Ferentino will play against Aget Service IM (#15) in Imola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
