Very significant was Osaka Evessa's (#7) 79-66 road victory against 7th ranked Sendai 89ers. Point guard Shun Watanuki (178-87) notched 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and American guard Dwayne Lathan (190-89, college: Indiana St.) supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds by American forward T.J. Cummings (205-81, college: UCLA, agency: Top Notch Sports) did not help to save the game for Sendai 89ers. Guard Takehiko Shimura (160-83) added 16 points and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Osaka Evessa (17-25) have an impressive seven-game winning streak.
