There was no surprise when 13th ranked Oknoplast BO (8-15) was crushed on the road by third ranked Lottomatica Roma (17-7) 90-70 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 57-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Lottomatica Roma dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Oknoplast BO's 32. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian power forward Gani Lawal (205-88, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Phil Goss (186-83, college: Drexel) chipped in 23 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Steven Smith (203-83, college: La Salle) who recorded 10 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Kenny Hasbrouck (191-86, college: Siena) added 14 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Lottomatica Roma have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-7 record having just two points less than leader Cimberio VA. Loser Oknoplast BO dropped to the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. Lottomatica Roma will face league's leader Cimberio Varese on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Oknoplast BO will play against VL Pesaro (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
