Regular Season Round 23: Hapoel Kazrin - Maccabi K/G 81-62

Very expected game when 13th ranked Maccabi K/G (5-18) was crushed on the road by eighth ranked Hapoel Kazrin (11-12) 81-62 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Kazrin. Maccabi K/G was better in second period 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Kazrin forced 19 Maccabi K/G turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized Russian power forward Anton Kazarnovski (205-85) helped adding 22 points and 8 rebounds. American swingman Muhammad El Amin (196-87, college: Stony Brook, agency: Two Points) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import forward Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) scored 24 points (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Hapoel Kazrin maintains eighth place with 11-12 record. Maccabi K/G at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. Hapoel Kazrin will face higher ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi K/G will play against Elitzur Ramla (#9).
