Regular Season Round 47: Shinshu BW - Takamatsu FA 87-91

There was a minor upset in Nagano where 9th ranked Shinshu BW (16-29) was defeated by ninth ranked Takamatsu FA (16-28) 91-87 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 25-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Shinshu BW was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) who scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. Five Takamatsu FA players scored in double figures. Takamatsu FA's coach Kenzo Maeda used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Power forward Michael Fey (213-83, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) added 22 points respectively for the hosts. Takamatsu FA moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Tokyo Cinq R. Shinshu BW lost their tenth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 29 games lost. Takamatsu FA will have a break next round. Shinshu BW will play again at home against Takamatsu FA (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
