Regular Season Round 47: Gunma - Niigata Albirex 100-95

Top ranked Niigata Albirex (30-13) recorded its thirteenth loss on the court of eleventh ranked Gunma on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Gunma 100-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Niigata Albirex. Niigata Albirex was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-19 charge of Gunma, which allowed them to win the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) who scored 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Power forward Lewis Witcher (207-87, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Four Gunma players scored in double figures. Center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and guard Nile Murry (193-83, college: TCU) added 22 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Gunma (11-32) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Saitama Bron. Niigata Albirex at the other side still keeps top position with 13 games lost. They share it with Yokohama BC. Gunma is again looking forward to face league's leader Niigata Albirex at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Niigata Albirex will have a break next round.
