We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 13th ranked UCAM Murcia (11-16) was outscored by fourteenth ranked Blancos de Rueda (11-16) in Valladolid 91-57 on Saturday. The game without a history. Blancos de Rueda led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to UCAM Murcia's 28 and made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. It was a good game for forward Nacho Martin (205-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Jordi Grimau (195-83) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American power forward Marcus Lewis (203-86, college: ORU) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Dutch-French Kim Tillie (210-88, college: Utah, agency: Priority Sports) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for UCAM Murcia. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Blancos de Rueda moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with UCAM Murcia and CB Canarias. Blancos de Rueda will face league's second-placed Caja Laboral in Vitoria in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
