Regular Season Round 28: Angers BC 49 - Vichy 73-70

The most important game in the last round took place in Angers between third ranked JA Vichy (18-8) and twelfth ranked Angers BC 49 (10-14) on Saturday night. JA Vichy was edged by Angers BC 49 in a tough game on the road 70-73. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-11. But JA Vichy won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely JA Vichy outrebounded Angers BC 49 44-30 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward SyPir Traore (204-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. American forward Anthony Hill (204-88, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Angers BC 49 players scored in double figures. point guard Rida El Amrani (180-86) replied with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Justin Reynolds (204-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for JA Vichy. JA Vichy's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Angers BC 49 moved-up to eleventh place. JA Vichy at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Angers BC 49 are looking forward to face higher ranked Rueil (#9) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. JA Vichy will have a break next round.
