Regular Season Round 48: Gunma - Niigata Albirex 88-80

Top ranked Niigata Albirex (30-14) recorded its fourteenth loss on the court of tenth ranked Gunma on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Gunma 88-80. The best player for the winners was American guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. The other American import forward Dominique Keller (203-88, college: Illinois) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Keller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and Kimitake Sato (184-84) added 25 points respectively. Newly promoted Gunma maintains tenth position with 12-32 record. Niigata Albirex lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Yokohama BC. Gunma are looking forward to face Saitama Broncos (#11) at home in the next round. Niigata Albirex will play against Hamamatsu Phoenix (#5) in Mikawa and is hoping to win this game.
