Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Osaka Evessa (19-25) outscored on the road 10th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (9-37) 91-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Osaka Evessa. Miyazaki Shining Suns was better in third quarter 20-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osaka Evessa dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Miyazaki Shining Suns' 32. The best player for the winners was American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota, agency: SportsTalent) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard Dwayne Lathan (190-89, college: Indiana St.) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa's coach Bill Cartwright felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian forward Abdullahi Kuso (206-84, college: Tallahassee CC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and American power forward Thomas Fairley (206-82, college: Lamar) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Osaka Evessa have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain seventh position with 19-25 record. Miyazaki Shining Suns at the other side keep the tenth place with 37 games lost. Osaka Evessa will face higher ranked Akita Happinets (#6) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Miyazaki Shining Suns will play against Oita Heat Devils (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
