Regular Season Round 27: FIATC Joventut - CAI Zaragoza 59-71

Rather expected game when 9th ranked FIATC Joventut (13-14) lost to seventh ranked CAI Zaragoza (15-12) in Badalona 59-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by CAI Zaragoza. FIATC Joventut was better in fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded FIATC Joventut 36-18 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Dutch center Henk Norel (214-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Croatian forward Damjan Rudez (208-86) contributed with 9 points and 4 assists for the winners. point guard Albert Oliver (187-78) answered with 12 points and 5 assists and power forward Alejandro Suarez (205-93) added 11 points in the effort for FIATC Joventut. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. CAI Zaragoza moved-up to sixth place, which they share with G.Canaria 2014. Loser FIATC Joventut dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. CAI Zaragoza will face Lagun Aro GBC (#17) in San Sebastian in the next round which should be an easy win for them. FIATC Joventut will play on the road against Cajasol (#16) in Sevilla.
