Regular Season Round 32: Zwolle - Groningen 66-74

An interesting game for Groningen (23-10) which played road game in Zwolle against one of their biggest challengers Zwolle (18-16). Third ranked Groningen managed to get a 8-point victory 74-66. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zwolle won third quarter 25-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and the former international center Michael Kingma (208-79, agency: R.H.Consultancy) who added 9 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Groningen's coach Ivica Skelin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Darryl Webb (198-88, college: Indiana, PA, agency: Pro One Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 21 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Tanner Smith (195-90, college: Clemson) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Groningen maintains third position with 23-10 record having five points less than leader Den Bosch. Zwolle at the other side keeps the fourth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Leeuwarden. Groningen will play against Amsterdam (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Zwolle will play against Rotterdam (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
