Second Stage Round 7: Start Gdynia - Rosa Radom 76-70

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 4th placed Rosa Radom (10-19) lost on the road to fifth ranked Start Gdynia (9-20) 76-70 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-19. But Rosa Radom won second period 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rosa Radom was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for power forward Tomasz Wojdyla (201-77) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Marcin Malczyk (193-82) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Nic Wise (178-87, college: Arizona) answered with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Serbian swingman Slavisa Bogavac (200-80, agency: BeoExcell) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Rosa Radom. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Start Gdynia have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Start Gdynia maintains fifth place in Places 7-12 with 9-20 record. Rosa Radom at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with 19 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
