Regular Season Round 26: Villeneuve - Arras 78-73

Date: April 6, 2013
There was no surprise when 13th ranked Arras (8-18) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (12-14) 78-73. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Arras was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 46-38 second half run of Villeneuve D'Ascq. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Point guard Bintou Dieme (164-84) notched 24 points and 6 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Belgian center Emma Meesseman (192-93, agency: LBM Management) supported her with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Villeneuve D'Ascq players scored in double figures. Even 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by American point guard Dawn Evans (170-89, college: JMU, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Arras. Ukrainian Olesia Malashenko (191-91, agency: LBM Management) added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Villeneuve D'Ascq maintains eighth position with 12-14 record. Arras at the other side keeps the thirteenth place with 18 games lost.
