Regular Season Round 30: Fos Ouest - Bordeaux 80-75

There was no surprise when 17th ranked Bordeaux (7-23) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Fos Ouest (18-12) 80-75 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 22-10 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Fos Ouest looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward John Williamson (199-86, college: Cincinnati) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Moroccan-Canadian Mohamed Hachad (194-83, college: Northwestern) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Fos Ouest players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Nigel Wyatte (204-81, college: Wagner, agency: Court Side) with 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Matthieu Guichard (188-88) scored 16 points. Fos Ouest have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Antibes and Rouen. Bordeaux lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 23 games lost. Fos Ouest will meet bottom-ranked Charleville-Mezieres (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bordeaux will play against Hyeres-Toulon and hope to secure a win.
