Second Stage Round 8: PGE Turow - Asseco Prok. 88-61

TBL top team - PGE Turow (21-9) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Asseco Prok. (17-12) in Zgorzelec 88-61. The game was mostly controlled by PGE Turow. Asseco Prok. managed to win fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. PGE Turow dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Asseco Prok.'s 34. The winners were led by the former international point guard Michal Chylinski (190-86, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 12 points and 4 assists and the former international power forward Damian Kulig (206-87) supported him with 13 points. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. PGE Turow's coach Miodrag Rajkovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds by Austrian-Slovenian center Rasid Mahalbasic (211-90) did not help to save the game for Asseco Prok.. The former international forward Piotr Szczotka (196-81, agency: Alti Sport) added 12 points for the guests. PGE Turow have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 21-9 record. Defending champion Asseco Prok. keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost. PGE Turow will meet Energa Czarni (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Asseco Prok. will play against Stelmet ZG in Zielona Gora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
