Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Maccabi K/G (5-20) lost on the road to seventh ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (15-10) 87-70 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Ironi Kiryat Ata. Maccabi K/G managed to win third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Darrin Govens (185-88, college: St.Joseph's) nailed 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and power forward Kobi Izik (204-83, agency: Avi Zilberman) accounted for 20 points and 10 rebounds. Four Ironi Kiryat Ata players scored in double figures. Ironi Kiryat Ata have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Elitzur Yavne. Maccabi K/G lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Ironi Kiryat Ata will meet higher ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi K/G will play against the league's leader Ironi Nes-Ziona (#1) in Nes Ziyona and hope to secure a win.
