This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (2-3) to leader Pioneros Los Mochis (3-0) 73-72 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fuerza Guinda Nogales. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 22-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. International guard Carlos Toussaint (190-91) saved the victory by scoring 20 points and 4 assists. American guard James Lewis (191-86, college: Fresno Pacific) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. American-Cameroonian guard Christopher Rodgers (196-84, college: Arizona) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Michael Strobbe (201-85) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Fuerza Guinda Nogales. Pioneros Los Mochis have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Fuerza Guinda Nogales at the other side keep the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Cananea. Pioneros Los Mochis will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play again at home against the league's second-placed Pioneros Los Mochis (#2) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
