Regular Season Round 25: Hapoel Kazrin - Macc.B.Yaakov 81-87

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 8th ranked Hapoel Kazrin (11-14) lost at home to ninth ranked Beer Yaakov (10-15) 87-81 on Tuesday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-19. But Hapoel Kazrin won second period 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Jermaine Hall (196-80, college: Wagner) nailed 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Avi Eliyahu (175-87, agency: Gross Zeev ISA) accounted for 21 points and 7 assists. Naturalized Russian power forward Anton Kazarnovski (205-85) came up with 21 points and 9 rebounds and guard Liran Shvarzvald (191-86) added 20 points respectively for Hapoel Kazrin in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hapoel Kazrin's coach Ziv Bartana rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Beer Yaakov maintains ninth place with 10-15 record. Newly promoted Hapoel Kazrin keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. Beer Yaakov will meet at home Elitzur Ramla (#10) in the next round. Hapoel Kazrin will play against Hapoel Afula and hope to secure a win.
