Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv and 9th ranked Maccabi Ashdod had identical 9-12 record. This time Hapoel Tel-Aviv used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Ashdod 92-88 on Wednesday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Maccabi Ashdod won third quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. At the losing side American guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Dror Hagag (178-78, agency: Avi Zilberman) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Hapoel Tel-Aviv (10-12) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Galil Gilboa. Loser Maccabi Ashdod keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Hapoel Holon.
